Collaborating today on tomorrow’s solutions.

Green Energy Park wants to collaborate today on tomorrow’s solutions, in which it, as a large-scale living lab, expertise and training centre, bridges the gap between research, innovation, realisation and exploitation. And this within three research areas: energy and mobility transition, hospital of the future, smart region.

Research areas

ENERGY AND MOBILITY TRANSITION

Green Energy Park is a CO2-neutral, realistic living lab equipped with a large-scale electric grid, an ultra-low temperature heat grid and extensive electric mobility possibilities.

HOSPITAL OF THE FUTURE

Green Energy Park has the medical-technical infrastructure to develop new technologies that can be tested both academically and by end users of the nearby Universitair Ziekenhuis Brussel (University Hospital of Brussels – UZB).

SMART REGION

Green Energy Park is a smart region that is used as a living lab for the development of innovative building techniques, new communication and IT technologies and digital developments such as self-driving cars.

Technology Readiness Levels (TRL)

Market maturity is expressed in TRL (Technology Readiness Level) on a scale of 1 to 9.

Green Energy Park has expanded this scale to 13.

For companies focusing on innovation, it is important that the innovation is known both internally and externally allowing the company to fully exploit its innovation and realise an efficient go-to-market.

TRL 10 to 13 is about the organisation of education and training.
